Murcia airport is
only a few kilometers from the resorts of the southern Costa Blanca
and is used by budget airlines taking people to the popular district
of Torrevieja. The coastline of Murcia is known as the
Costa Cálida. This area is not heavily populated with tourists
like the Costa Blanca to the north or the Costa del Sol to the
south. One of the most popular areas is the Mar Menor, a strip
of land separating the Mediterranean from a large lagoon "the small
sea". Other resorts in the area include Aguilas and Peurto de
Mazarrón. Inland towns of interest include Lorca and Cartegena.
