There are a number of tour operators offering sightseeing trips around La Rioja.  From simple city guides to full holidays and wine tasting trips, most tastes are catered for.  The wine tasting and gourmet tours are particularly popular.  The major attractions of the area are incorporated into these trips, with professional guides at hand.  Because La Rioja is the smallest region in Spain most of the longer tours include places of interest in neighboring regions  such as the Basque country, Navarra and parts of Castillia and Leon.

There are wine tasting day trips departing from Haro which visit wine producers and are accompanied by an expert to help you appreciate the different complexities of this famous wine growing region.  Most trips are by coach but there are also walking holidays available.  The pilgrims route runs through La Rioja on it's way to Santiago de Compestela.  The pilgrims walk is not for the beginner.
