With its backdrop of mountains and sweeping bay
Roses is a popular resort in the north of the Costa Brava. It
is especially popular with French tourists being so close to
the border with France. French tourists find the area far
cheaper than the coastal towns of France. Roses has a long
seafront with a sandy beach. Behind the promenade the
town has some narrow streets lined with restaurants and all manner
of souvenir shops. Not many UK visitors find their way to
Roses, most by passing it for the "livelier" resort of
Lloret de Mar.
