Once a small fishing village Lloret has grown into one of the
largest resorts on the Costa Brava. It is popular with visitors from
the UK, many traveling by coach. Barcelona airport with its budget
airlines has made the resort even more popular being only seventy
kilometers away.
Lloret de Mar is a bustling lively resort at the southern end of the
Costa Brava. It is unashamedly brash in comparison to some of
the quieter Costa Brava resorts. The long sandy beaches
stretch for 7kms along the coast. All the beaches have been
awarded the prestigious blue flag for cleanliness. Lloret de
Mar has more hotels than any other resort on the Costa Brava.
The town still retains some of its historical past.
