LA RAMBLA

Among the most famous, not be missed sights
are the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's most impressive piece of
architecture and La Rambla, hard to miss if you're based in
the city centre. The old cathedral is well worth a visit, as
is the home of Barcelona football club the famous Nou Camp.

Barcelona zoo is worth a visit on a sunny day.
The zoo's main attraction, an albino gorilla named "snowflake"
unfortunately died a couple of years ago but the zoo and park area
are still well worth looking at. On Sunday mornings there is a
book and coin market in a square off La Rambla, even if you don't
collect coins, it is fascinating to watch the dealers and collectors
in action. No trip to Barcelona would be complete without
sampling some of the famous tapas bars dotted around the city.
Some of the best are situated on La Rambla and are easy to find. The
main market is also on La Rambla, this old market is a hive of
activity with stalls selling everything from sheeps heads to
souvenirs.
Guided tours of Barcelona are very popular and a
good way of cramming in as many sights as possible in a short time.
