LA RAMBLA

La Rambla is Barcelona's famous tree lined boulevard.  This beautiful walkway stretches from the plaza de Catalunya at the top, down to the statue of Columbus on the seafront.  It is lined from top to bottom with tapas bars restaurants and shops.  The old food market is also situated on La Rambla.  Street artists perform magic tricks, jugglers entertain the crowds. People dressed in a variety of costumes pose as statues, only moving when they hear the clink of a coin being thrown into a hat. Such is the popularity of La Rambla, it is said that if you wait long enough, you will see everybody you've ever known  .
