An impressive university town, Sigüenza Spain is dominated by it's castle which is now an impressive four star parador. The original castle dates back to the 5th century AD. During the occupation of the Moors, it was further fortified. Sigüenza is steeped in history dating back to the time of the Celts in 195 BC. The massive Gothic cathedral is famous throughout Spain as the home of the tomb of Martin del Arce or El Doncel de Sigüenza one of
the knights of St James who died on the battlefields of Granada aged 25. There are guided tours around the cathedral between Tuesday and Saturday.
