There are a number of skiing resorts in Castile and Leon. These are in the provinces of Burgos, Segovia, Leon and Salamanca. In the north of Burgos province the small resort of La Lunada has seven
runs, four red and three green.
Near the region of Asturias in the province of Leon, there are two resorts, Leitariegos which has ten runs, five red four blue and one green, a total of seven kilometers of
available skiing. There is a small hotel in the resort, with a number of others nearby. The other resort in the province of Leon is San Isidro in Puebla de Lillo this is a much larger resort with over twenty four kilometers available for skiing and
twenty five ski runs. There are snow cannons for top up. The province of Salamanca has just one resort the Sierra de Béjar-La Covatilla which is situated in the south of the province near Extremadura. There are
nineteen kilometers of available skiing with nineteen runs. Lastly, in the province of Segovia is the resort of La Pinilla providing approx twenty kilometers of skiing over 24 runs. This is a popular resort with
the inhabitants of Madrid, being only 50 kms from the city. There are a number of companies who offer skiing holidays in the area. |
