Puerto del Carmen is the largest resort on Lanzarote, with over 60% of visitors to the island staying here.  It has grown over the years and now stretches for quite a few kilometers along the coast. Holiday apartments, hotels, car hire and souvenir shops straddle the coast road,  The density of the holiday apartments does not mean they are unattractive, and it is obvious that a great deal of planning has gone into their construction.  Access from the apartments to the long golden sandy beach is easy.  The beaches can be quite crowded in the summer months which I think the following picture demonstrates.
