One of the
island's main resorts, Carralejo's main attraction are the sand
dunes which stretch southwards. The dunes are now a protected nature
reserve. There is a ferry from Carrajelo to the island of
Lanzarote. The town itself is made up of a town centre from
which apartments straggle their way to the beach. The
liveliest area is around the port where there are plenty seafood
restaurants. Angling, scuba diving and surfing in the crystal clear
water are some of the resort's popular activities. There
are boat excursions, notably a glass bottom boat tour from the port
to the small offshore islet of los Lobos. |
