SAN SEBASTIAN
San Sebastian is
known to the locals by its Basque name Donostia. It is the
regions premier resort developed around a beautiful sandy bay.
San Sebastian has been the favourite resort of the Spanish
aristocracy since the late 19th century. It has a unique
atmosphere and is unlike any of the Spanish Costas further south.

Parte Viaje is a fascinating blend of narrow streets tapas bars and
a fish market. At the centre of this district is the Plaza de la
Constitución a lovely arcaded square. In July and August, San
Sebastian is used as a summer retreat by many Spaniards wanting to
escape from the blazing heat of the south.
