Valldemossa

Valldemossa is a beautiful old town, situated in the mountains of Majorca.  The surrounding mountainous countryside is breathtaking.  Years before the advent of tourism, Valldemossa was made famous by the composer Chopin who stayed there with his lover the American George Sand (a woman) and became  the subject of much gossip in the coffee bars of Europe. Overview

Valldemossa is situated is located high above the valley in the Tramontana Mountain Range and is renowned for its impressive fourteenth century Carthusian Monastery that has attracted people from far and wide throughout history, including the likes of Chopin and his companion George Sand.

After a scenic journey by coach, there is plenty of free time to explore this beautiful town at your own pace or you can join the guided walk. The Monastery is a must and again there is the choice to join a guided tour (entrance fee to the Monastey payable locally).
