MAJORCA

At 1,400 sq ft ,Majorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands.  It is considered to be one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean.  Majorca is the favourite destination for holidaymakers from all over Europe.  The scenery of Majorca is very diverse, from inland mountain villages to some of the most stunning coastal resorts on the med, Majorca has it all.  The capital Palma is only 8 kms from the airport and is well worth a visit in its own right.  With the advent of the budget airlines, Palma has become a popular destination for weekend breaks.  There are many popular holiday resorts on the island from the up market Pollensa to the  livelier Palma Nova and Magaluf.  The inland village of Valldemosa, is  set amongst beautiful mountain scenery.  It was made famous by the composer Chopin, who stayed with his lover George Sands in 1838.  The town of Soller is famous for its small gauge railway with wood panelled carriages which travels through a gorgeous scenic route.
