Cala Millor
Cala Millor is a holiday resort on the
north east coast of Majorca it is a fairly small family
resort with a pleasant town centre and a long promenade
linking it to the harbour resort of
Cala Bona a
couple of miles up the coast. There are plenty of
apartments to rent and some good hotels. A popular
evening stroll is the promenade walk. If you get tired
there are plenty of bars where you can stop and refresh
yourself. Cala Millor is an ideal family holiday resort.
Plenty to do for mum dad and the kids. Cala Millor
makes an ideal base for exploring the island, you can rent
bicycles for a day and cycle up the coast to the Costa de
Los Pinos, a beautiful area with many fantastic villas, If
you do go, stop at Lola's bar opposite the Europa
Hotel and have the chicken and chips which is done on a
rotisserie with fantastic herbs. On reflection, we
were last there in the 80's and its quite possible the
Lola's bar no longer exists, life goes very quickly. In the
evening, just stroll down the promenade and watch the
fishing boats being prepared for the evening catch in Cala
Bona. The resort of Cala Bona is the ideal place
for an inexpensive evening meal at one of the restaurants
overlooking the harbour. We went every year to this
area when the kids were young and have some very fond
memories of our time there. That was back in the eighties
but my sister who once lived there, went back last year and
told me it was exactly the same. We have decided that
we will definitely go back and re-live some of our fantastic
experiences. Cala Millor is only a short drive to
Alcudia
and the up market resort of
Puerto Pollensa.
