| Founded on the remains of a
Moorish village,
Banyalbufar is
situated on the north coast of Majorca,. The hillside
above the town is a series of terraces, which were used for
grape production. The vines were killed by disease in the 11th
century and the land was turned over to vegetable production.
The village is now primarily a tourist resort and farming is no
longer a commercial pursuit.
