LOS VALLES
The old valleys of Ánso and Hecho in the Aragon Pyrenees were,
until fairly recently, isolated . Poor road links resulted in
the mountain villages maintaining ancient customs and traditions.
This isolation also resulted in a local dialect called cheso which
has passed from one generation to the next. The area is
now a popular tourist destination where people can experience a
taste of what life was like in the past. This is a beautiful area
for
walking holidays and a spot of
fishing in the mountain rivers and streams. In winter, the
area is popular for
cross country skiing.
