SPANISH FIESTAS

Amongst the many fiestas celebrated throughout the Aragon region, the Fiesta del Pilar is probably one of the most popular.  This fiesta celebrates the supposed visit by the Virgin Mary to the apostle James in Zaragoza.  This is a large fiesta lasting nine days in the city of Zaragoza,  It culminates in a huge firework display over the river Ebro.  Apart from this fiesta, Aragon, like many other regions of Spain, Aragon celebrates Saints days, and the reconquest of Spain from the Moors.
