SEVILLE
The city of
Seville was built on the banks of the Rio Guadalquivir. It is home
to some of Europe's most historic monuments. The city
is a major tourist attraction with many places of interest to visit.
To explore the city in any depth would take at least three
days. A few of of the must see attractions are the Reales Alcazar
palace, the Santa Cruz district with its maze of narrow streets, the
beautiful cathedral and the El Arenal district, the one
time home of the port of Seville.
Seville's main square the Plaza Virgen de los Reyes is surrounded by
amazing buildings with a fountain at the centre. Here you can
take a leisurely stroll or see the square from the comfort of a
horse drawn carriage.

Books About Seville
The historic nature of Seville makes it an
absorbing place to read about. There have been many books
written about Seville and we have listed a few below with customer
reviews where available.
Seville by Dorling Kindersley

"My Mum
and I used this book on a recent visit to Seville. Using
the detailed maps we were able to navigate even the
tiniest roads in the old town. I was continually
surprised when I would say, "on the next corner is the
[whatever we wanted to find]" and it was always there.
That's a great recommendation!
With the beautiful pictures and
good basic summaries of things to see and do, we were
able to choose exactly how to spend our time - and we
weren't lead astray. Restaurant recommendations
were also very fair and accurate - and we dined
superbly. I now always check to see if there's an
Eyewitness Guide for somewhere I'm traveling. " |

Seville And Andalucia by Dorling Kindersley
"I bought this book before I went on holiday
and decided to take it with me. I used it quite a lot whilst on
holiday and found it provided a lot of useful information. I think
the tours take in a lot of small, interesting places that might
otherwise be missed and found it very useful in Granada where it
helped me to find the main places of interest very quickly. I also
used it to decide where I would like to visit before I got to the
area. I like the way places of importance have a plan, map and
information. The layout is clear and colourful. However the guide
does not have extensive detail on individual places of interest."

There are numerous churches and important monuments in Seville but
