There
are a number of companies offering angling holidays on the Costa del
Sol. Most sea fishing is done from boats which can be chartered.
Sailing miles out from the coast, expect to catch anything from huge
red tuna, sea bream and even marlin. Day trips are also
available for those just wanting some sport and not full blown fishing
holidays. These will set you back about 100 euros each for six
people sharing half a day or 200 each for a full day. Catches
are almost guaranteed.

Prestige fishing tours who work
out of Marbella are one company able to offer these facilities.

Sea
fishing is popular in the area and there are hundreds of locals who
try out their luck from the shoreline up and down the coast.
Beach angling is nowhere near as productive as boat fishing and the
sizes are far smaller. There isn't much point in taking a load
of tackle for a two week holiday, boat owners will provide everything
you need plus the tips and tricks for the area.
If
you're going for a normal beach holiday in the area and fancy a bit of
fishing from the coastline you can pick up a good telescopic rod
complete with reel and line for as little as twelve euros from one of
the many Chinese shops in the resorts. Bait is usually available
from tackle shops. Ask for Cebo pronounced theebo. They
normally have boxes of ragworm which are an excellent bait but not
native to the area. There is some fly fishing available well inland
but not really worth the traveling distance required to reach a decent
river, plus, for any coarse fishing you require a license.
