Villajoyosa
La Villajoyosa is
characterised by its pastel coloured houses along the
seafront and overlooking the riverbed on the approach into
the town. La Villajoyosa is situated approx 10kms from
Benidorm and used to be on the busy N332 trunk road which
made it a notorious bottleneck. A recently opened by
pass has now given Villajoyosa the freedom to develop its
town centre area and it will be interesting to see how this
development progresses. Villajoyosa is primarily a
fishing port but tourism now plays a part in the town's
future. The Moors and Christians re enactment is one
of the most famous on the Costa Blanca.
Villajoyosa has the potential for turning itself into a full
blown resort but whether this happens will have to be seen
