JAVEA
Entering Javea from
the main N332 you arrive at the port area and old town. The
headland separating Javea from Denia forms part of the rocky bay.
There is a fairly wide promenade which is lined with restaurants whose
tables and umbrellas are placed along the pavement giving good views
of the bay. The beaches are shingle. The old town has steep narrow
streets with some old houses and a church. About two miles
south of the old town is the newer and more touristic part of Javea.
There are modern shops and a wide bay with a good sandy beach, the
wide promenade is lined with bars and restaurants and is the favourite
destination for the majority of holidaymakers. Javea is framed
by mountains and like many other costa blanca resorts, the seafront
area seems to have its own sub climate. There are many occasions
when a few kilometers inland the sky is cloudy while the coastal area
remains clear. Javea has hundreds of sumptuous villas in the
surrounding hills and is a very popular area for people seeking
private villa holidays. Javea is just south of
Denia from which it is hidden by a
large rocky outcrop.
