Hesperia LucentumThe hotel is in a great location - 5-10 min walk from the main shopping area. 5-10 min walk from the marina and beach. Very safe area so it is fine to walk around here at night back from restaurants after dinner. The room was clean & had everything we needed - good beds, good shower, etc. The hotel staff were great. We got good restaurant recommendations from the staff working at reception. The gym is basic... a room that has a few pieces of gym equipment and is unsupervised. It could do with air-conditioning or better ventilation, but it was ok and the bike equipment I used worked fine. The jacuzzi room had a musty smell to it so I wasn't so eager to use that. All in all, a fabulous hotel for a weekend get away. Great value, great location, good to have the gym room, i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! Plus we got a great room-rate through LateRooms.

This Hotel has been recently refurbished and is true value for money. The staff is very courteous and helpful and speak impeccable English which is a plus considering my inability to communicate in Spanish.

Centrally located and quite nice hotel. Only problem was that the room was constantly too hot and we had to have windows opened all night long.

My wife and I found this hotel to be in a great location. Stayed for a week at the end of September and weather was hot. We caught the Airport bus into Alicante and were dropped off just a few metres from the hotel, on the same side of the street. Journey took about 20 minutes and cost one euro per person. Going back to the Airport at the end of our stay, we crossed the road and walked just a few metres to the bus stop. Journey took half an hour because the bus driver decided to stop at a cafe for 10 minutes! The hotel is on a busy main street, opposite the large indoor market in Alicante, which sells fresh fruit, veg, fish, meat, bread. The room was very nice, well furnished, good air-conditioning, a TV, free electronic safe, bathroom smellies, but no tea/coffee making facilities. The only English channels on the TV were SKY news and a history channel, only a minor niggle as we did not spend much time in the room. The bathroom towels are changed every day if you wish, and you can request a different pillow if you wish, see the pillow menu! Although we asked for a decent outlook, our room was overlooking a side street where there was renovation work going on, again only a minor niggle. We did not eat at the hotel, so cannot comment on the food. The hotel is situated about 5/10 minutes walk from the marina, then you can carry on along the promenade to the beach, where you can hire sunbeds/shades. 5 minutes walk in the other direction, i.e. behind the indoor market and there is a huge outdoor market in Alicante on Thursdays/Saturdays. There are plenty of eating places down by the sea front, or nearer to the hotel in the hidden streets/squares, most places offer outside eating as well as inside. We enjoyed ourstay in Alicante, it's a city break by the coast.
